Herb Remington RIP

I'm late acknowledging this sad news on this site, but I wanted to remember Herb Remington, the great steel guitarist for Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys. He died in Houston on Oct. 29, 2018.

I met herb in 2010 when he agreed to record a number of songs for my CD, "Goodbye Liza Jane: Hello Western Swing." He was a terrific guy, very musical, fastidious. He told me several Bob Will stories. When I asked him what's the one thing no one knows about Bob Wills, he looked me straight in the eye and said it's…

a sweet fan

Not long ago I unexpectedly received a sweet thoughtful letter from Bernice Cormier of Louisiana. She let me know that Clayton, her husband and a guitar player, had died, sadly ... and that he had played guitar whiel listening to my 1st CD release: "Goodbye Liza Jane, Hello Western Swing." She wanted another copy... She also invited me down to join her at the race track. If I could get away, I'd love to! And I'm going to try.

Having a fan like Bernice adds so much joy ...

The melody of one, called "Seaport," came to me while I was trying to find parking in Boston's Seaport area, where development has gone .. well, overboard. It's the fastest growing part of the Boston right now. There are only a few meters but many garages charging $17 and up!! !@#$%

I'm hoping to…
